Mission Statement

Provide leadership in the pursuit of continuously improving quality in transportation construction.

Through our partnership, we will:

  • Promote an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, and communication between government agencies and the private sector
  • Respond in a unified and consistent manner to identified quality improvement needs and new technologies that impact the products that we provide
  • Provide a forum to promote uniform test standards
  • Provide highly skilled, knowledgeable materials sampling and testing technicians
  • Provide reciprocity for qualified testing technicians among accredited contributing members

Transportation Technician Qualification Program (TTQP)

The Transportation Technician Qualification Program (TTQP) provides improved quality in the transportation products by ensuring that sampling and testing technicians have demonstrated ability to correctly perform all required procedures.

This program meets the requirements for sampling and testing personnel of The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 637, Subpart B – Quality Assurance Procedures for Construction.

TTQP OBJECTIVES

  • To provide highly skilled, knowledgeable materials sampling and testing technicians.
  • To promote uniformity and consistency in testing.
  • To provide reciprocity opportunities for qualified testing technicians among participating agencies.
  • To create a harmonious working atmosphere between public and private employees based upon trust, open communication, and equivalency of qualification.

Membership

The Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC) is comprised of representatives of the western states of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, and the Western and Central Federal Lands Highway Divisions (WFLHD and CFLHD) of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). This organization is dedicated to improving the quality of the transportation products and services that we provide.
